Get three world-wide recognised yachting qualifications in one week!

Do you fancy a challenging and empowering week both ashore and afloat?

This is a specialist transition year program aimed to develop young people’s team work

and growth through learning to sail an offshore yacht whilst doing basic navigation coupled

with specialist sea survival training.

Students embark on a 5 day program where they undertake the world wide recognised Royal Yachting Association qualifications for sail cruising.

Huge emphasis is placed on safety in Sailing West and students will adhere to this.

 

Successful Students will obtain the following certificates:

 

RYA Start Yachting (2 Days Afloat)

An introduction to sailing an offshore yacht with crew members working as a team to trim sails, navigate and steer the yacht

 

RYA Basic Navigation & Safety (2 Days Classroom)

An introduction to chart-work and navigation for new skippers

 

RYA / MCA Sea Survival (1 Day Classroom & Swimming Pool)

A must for all water users to learn the principles of survival at sea including a wet drill with life-raft in a swimming pool

 

 

Running weekly from the 1st September 2010 – Monday – Friday - 0930 – 1600
