 Paul Adamson is the principal of Sailing West. He is a fully qualified and experienced professional skipper. Paul is 32 years old and has logged over 165,000 professional nautical miles. Paul examines for the RYA. This includes their Certificates of Competence for Coastal Skipper, Yachtmaster Offshore & Yachtmaster Ocean. Over the past 12 years Paul has built his experience by working with many prestigious yachting companies including Oyster Marine Ltd, Plas Menai – Welsh National Watersports Centre, Clipper Ventures Plc and many RYA Recognised Training Centres.
Paul has assimilated the positive methods used over the years and this has led him to set-up and develop a sea school that is forward thinking and evolving with the sport. This benefits our instructors which in turn is passed on to our clients. |

 Joanne joins Sailing West as our Office Manager. Joanne will help you choose the right course and her boundless energy will enthuse you to get on the water and increase your sailing education! Joanne has over 10 years of sailing all types of yachts & dinghies, she loves yacht racing and you will either find her rounding a windward mark or at the bar entertaining her crew in the après sail scene! You will often find Joanne out cruising Dublin Bay with her beloved dogs Frank and Hailey! |

Christian Mach - Instructor & PYP Course Mentor |
 Christian has been sailing for over 30 years and started his instructional career back in 1987. He has gathered a vast experience ranging from traditional gaffers to modern sailing and motor yachts. He is an RYA/MCA Ocean Yachtmaster Instructor Examiner (Sail & Power). This allows Christian not only to teach and examine for the whole of the sail and power scheme but also Christian trains and examines Yachtmaster Instructors for the RYA. His wide and varied experience has led him to becoming a relaxed, friendly but very efficient instructor. His modern teaching techniques combined with a great sense of seamanship will stretch anyones comfort zone yet his unique instructional style with deliver to the student the knowledge and skills they require. Christian believes that “Knowledge dispels fear”.

 Rónán joins Sailing West as one of our freelance instructional team; Rónán is an RYA/MCA Yachtmaster Offshore Instructor. To date he has sailed over 25,000 professional miles at sea sailing the North Atlantic including the Caribbean, Mediterranean and North West Europe. He is dedicated to quality instruction and professionalism and enjoys imparting his knowledge both on and off the water. Rónán teaching style is fun and friendly and coupled with his no nonsense approach makes him a first class instructor. |
